Arsenal are close to agreeing a deal in principle with Bologna over the signing of defender Riccardo Calafiori.
The Gunners have been in talks with the Italian club for several weeks, and it is understood that the two clubs have now reached an agreement in principle over a fee in the region of £50 million.
Calafiori is a left-back who has been capped by Italy at Under-21 level, and he is seen as one of the most promising young defenders in Serie A.
He has been training with Arsenal's Under-23s in recent weeks, and he could be set to make his debut for the first team in the coming weeks.
Calafiori would become Arsenal's second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Marquinhos from Sao Paulo.
