Robert Lewandowski Powers Borussia Dortmund Past Real Madrid

4-1 Victory Gives Dortmund Advantage in Champions League Semi-Final

Lewandowski's Four Goals Stun Real Madrid

Robert Lewandowski put on a footballing masterclass on Wednesday, scoring four goals as Borussia Dortmund defeated Real Madrid 4-1 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. The Polish international became the first player to score four goals in a Champions League semi-final, as Dortmund took a commanding lead.

Dortmund made a blistering start to the match, with Lewandowski opening the scoring in just the eighth minute. The striker doubled his tally just six minutes later, before completing his hat-trick in the 49th minute. Lewandowski then put the icing on the cake with his fourth goal in the 77th minute, leaving Real Madrid stunned.

Real Madrid's misery was compounded by the sending off of Sergio Ramos in the 84th minute, leaving the Spanish giants with a mountain to climb in the second leg.

The victory gives Dortmund a significant advantage heading into the second leg at the Bernabeu on April 30. Lewandowski's goals have put Real Madrid on the brink of elimination, and the German side will be confident of progressing to the final.
